Tottenham defender Danso agrees terms with EPL club after bombshell admission

Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland are in discussions over a permanent move for Kevin Danso, talkSPORT understands.
The news comes just a day after Roberto De Zerbi admitted that Danso had asked to leave Spurs.
Speaking after their 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United, the Italian said that Danso, Richarlison and Pape Matar Sarr had all asked to leave.
Danso has already agreed personal terms with the Black Cats as well.
The Black Cats wanted to land the centre-back on a season-long loan, but that offer was rejected.
That means the Austrian's final appearance for Tottenham could turn out to be the 5-1 win over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup.
The centre-back, who played for his nation at the World Cup this summer, was, though, only a second-half substitute.
Tottenham have embarked on an enormous rebuild this summer and transfers have been coming thick and fast.
No stone has been left unturned by manager De Zerbi as he seeks to turn the club into European contenders after two Premier League campaigns of relegation battles.
Savio and Omar Marmoush are the two latest signings, with the former getting a goal and an assist on debut against Charlton.
However, the overhaul has also seen two new centre-backs join with Jan Paul van Hecke arriving in a £52million deal from Brighton, while Marcos Senesi comes in on a free transfer from Bournemouth.
And while Cristian Romero finally left the club in a £34.2m move to Atletico Madrid, Danso now finds himself down the pecking order.
He was vital as cover for most of the 2025/26 campaign and was one of Tottenham's steadiest performers when Romero and new captain Micky van de Ven were out through injury and suspension.
Danso first joined Spurs on loan from Lens in January 2025 and helped the club to their Europa League final win.
He came off the bench in the 1-0 triumph over Manchester United to shore up the backline and see the game out.
His transfer then became permanent that summer in a £20.9m move.
Fans have taken to the defender despite his rotational role with his passion and his determined performances impressing.
However, minutes are likely to be in short supply, as suggested by his cameo role against Charlton.
Realistically, it now appears he is fifth choice centre-back with Ben Davies starting on the left side in midweek, leaving him only ahead of Kota Takai.
Meanwhile, Archie Gray has previously been used there in a pinch, while the club have highly-rated 17-year-old Jun'ai Byfield on the books.
He was not even in the squad for their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.
Sunderland pushing
Sunderland are looking for numbers to bolster their squad ahead of a Europa League campaign.
The Black Cats have signed three first-team players so far, but they are expecting to busy as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
